Elsa Mauer Nicodemus - "The Cadillac Queen"

Walk into any auto repair or restoration shop and ask for the owner. You'll be guaranteed to be introduced to a man. It's just the nature of the industry. The exceptions are few and far between. However, if you travel to Dutchess County, NY, you'll find Elsa Mauer Nicodemus at the helm of the world's more well-respected restorer of old Cadillacs.

Meet the "Cadillac Queen."

Running the leading Cadillac restoration shop for the past thirty years, Elsa Mauer Nicodemus has received quite of bit of publicity. In a feature article by Hudson Valley magazine, the author dubbed her the "Cadillac Queen." Since publication of that article, the title has stuck.

At car shows and other related events, she is often reminded of that piece. While the publicity is nice, Elsa takes a lot of pride in the respect that she's earned from building FEN Enterprises and now Cadillac Parts & Restoration (CPR). The international reputation of quality and integrity means much more than the title conferred to her.

The "Cadillac Queen" - restoring the Standard of the World

Cadillac, the United States' premier luxury auto brand, came to be known as the Standard of the World. Innovation and grandiose design separated Cadillac from the rest.

Decades of Cadillacs have rolled out from dealer showrooms and into owners' driveways and limousine fleets. Over the years, fewer of these old cars from the early 1900s through the 60s and 70s remain. Today, the brand remains a popular classic that many seek to restore.

However, restoration of a classic Cadillac doesn't come cheap. In fact, due to limited production and scarcity of available parts, it can be quite expensive to restore one of these cars. Specific product knowledge is vital to a successful restoration and one such restorer is located in Poughkeepsie, NY. Elsa Mauer Nicodemus, owner of Cadillac Parts & Restoration, has not only been in the business since 1984 but remains at the very top of the male-dominated industry.

Her reputation has led to many press articles and one popular publication, Hudson Valley magazine, not only featured her company but also proclaimed her as the "Cadillac Queen." It's an enjoyable article. Read about the Cadillac restoration expert.
